Yeah, 13 months was yesterday, but here is the post today.
But before that, let me talk about my boobs some more. I don’t think I talk about them NEARLY enough in this blog. My supply has rebounded amazingly well. The left boob is still low, due to the previously blocked ducts, but I’m getting somewhere around what I was before. I think it must have been a combination of the ducts and then some sort of hormone thing. Weird. And scary.
Here is our little monthly meme.
Favorite Foods: mandarin oranges, black beans, she put away a pile of mac and cheese tonight, although she’s never really liked it before, shredded cheese
Least Favorite Foods: anything being offered to her on a spoon by a mom
Newest Foods: mac and cheese, cow’s milk (!) The kid didn’t bat an eye. She drank it right down like she didn’t even know the difference. Megan thought I would be sad, but I feel like an incredible weight has been lifted off of me. As much as I hate the idea of cow’s milk (not a milk fan, here), do you know how much easier it is to top off her bottle with 2 oz of cow’s milk as opposed to 2 oz of mine??
Sleep: She has had some sleep disturbances over the past few weeks. She is finally getting her top two teeth and they have been bugging her. She is mostly sleeping through the night, though, from 7:30 ish to 6:15 ish.
Size: Around 18 pounds. We are having a hell of a time with pants for her. 6-9 months are fine around, but too short. 12 months fall off. We’ve had some good luck with some capri’s from children’s place in size 6-9. She wears them like shorts! Her shirts are typically 12 months, although she wears smaller and bigger sometimes.
We are also having a terrible time with shoes. Help would be lovely! We are looking for good walking sandals or other summer shoes that don’t require socks, that are non-leather, that come in a size 2. She has outgrown the smallest isabooties, but the next size up look like flippers on her. Most shoes in size 2 are “crib shoes” which, we have learned, translates to “crazy slick on the bottom so you baby falls on her ass.” We bought her some teva’s from ebay and they gave her (poor baby) at least 6 blisters (FYI she was at daycare. I’d like to think that we would have noticed her limping and thus taken them off of her earlier…) Anyway, if you have suggestions, we would be wildly appreciative.
Teeth: Big news! Just today the tiniest bit of her front, top two teeth have started coming through.
Physical accomplishments: Crazy monkey girl. I have nothing else to say.
Words: Her new words are bird, duck and quack (notice a theme?)
Signs: She doesn’t really have more signs. We had thought she learned “baby” at daycare, but they don’t use that one. Quinn signs the ASL for “baby” to mean “hand me that kitty or baby doll so that I can hold it like a baby.” I think she made it up/learned it from us rocking her doll in my arms.
Some pics, just because.
The clip in her hair is an EGGPLANT. I ordered them from Etsy (“Your place to buy and sell all things handmade”. Here they are up-close.

Here is Quinn with my Mom and Dad. They came up for Mother’s Day.
