HopeShe napped!!!I just called the daycare (today is Quinn's first day at the new place) and they told us that she took a "short" nap this morning. By short, they meant a HALF HOUR! Hell, that's a respectable morning nap for her. I'm so excited. She was eating lunch when I called. The woman on the phone said that she was giving them "the eye" because there are so many people coming and going. I think that is Quinn's standard nosy nature, so they will probably continue to get "the eye." Anyway, just had to let my internets know. Pics from the Pittsburgh trip are off of the camera and I should get them uploaded tonight or in the morning.

Hitting the road1/22/07 - unlocking F-lock because we are heading to Pittsburgh this weekend. Jen, Cait and Natalie are going to give us the milk hook-up. Ok, technically it's all Jen, but you know... We are excited that we might all get to go play at either the Pittsburgh Children's Museum or IKEA. They are going to give us a call at some point on our drive and let us know what the rest of their day looks like. Hopefully there will be lots of excellent same-but-different photos of the girls. They were born 3-ish days apart, are the same height, but are on very different ends of the weight chart. I can't wait to see them together again!

We're homeYeah, I know most of you didn't know we were gone in the first place. I thought about telling you, but I always feel a little uncomfortable announcing that our house is unoccupied on the internet. Anyway, I got a call from Mom on Thursday that Grandma had coded at dialysis. They really called in the troops (I think like 9 EMS workers came). They got her going again, but she is in ICU. It was one of those "I think you should come tonight" type calls. So we did. Fortunately (I guess), Grandma is tough and was starting to get better-ish by Sunday. I say "I guess" because her quality of life seems worse and worse every time I see her. This time she was on a vent and an external pacemaker and the best interaction I had with her was her eyes opening a little bit. She wasn't using the pacemaker at all and was breathing pretty well. It sounded like they were going to take the pacer out before she goes to dialysis today, but leave the vent in until afterward because she tends to not deal well with the dialysis. She goes for dialysis at 10am today. I hope she does ok (I think). We were going to go over the weekend anyway to do Christmas stuff. We still opened presents, but it was a little weird. I'll tell more about that later in another post that isn't laden down with the lead balloon of sickness.

Kitty searchMegan made a friends-only post last night on several topics. Here was one of them that was more for general consumption.
for my NYC friends: is F*O Schw*rz a convenient trip for any of you anytime in the near future? while there we got quinn a stuffed cat because she seemed to like it and it wasn't $1,275. nope. $12. it's not worked completely, but it's almost a lovey...and when i went online just now to buy a few more so we can keep one at daycare, and have a few on hand here at home, they seem to not have them anymore. so i'm hoping maybe the stores still have them. i'll call and see what i can find, and maybe if they are in stock they can just mail them to me?? but i'm looking for a backup plan. and no, none on eb*y right now. so maybe send me an email if getting to the store wouldn't be a complete PITA for you. *smooch*
Here is a photo of the kitty in question:

Remember that chart thing from the L-word?Well, someone is doing it for real. It is linked to the Showtime website, so it must be sort of "for real." You can sign up to be notified when it starts. http://www.ourchart.com/
